Former defender of the Russian national team and football club “Zenith” Yuri Zhirkov will play for Moscow Region “Khimki”.
This was announced on Wednesday by a member of the supervisory board of the Moscow Region club Roman Teryushkov. The last club for which Zhirkov played was Zenit from St. Petersburg. In the summer of 2021 of the club, he was left without a club.
According to Teryushkov, the contract with 38-year-old Zhirkov was signed for six months with the possibility of extension for one season.
“If Yuri wants to play further, then we will be ready to extend the agreement with him. If not, then we will offer him the opportunity to move to administrative work in the structure of the club,” – quotes Teryushkov RIA Novosti.
“Khimki” after the autumn part of the season occupy the last place in the RPL.
