Volocopter and Autoflight conducted air taxi flight tests [VIDEO] – News

In addition to Pantuo Aviation , two other companies have shown test flights of their development of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) air taxis. According to the assurances of the German Volocopter and the Chinese Autoflight, their drones have average cruising speeds of 180 and 200 km/h, respectively.

The VoloConnect is equipped with six VTOL rotors and two electric fans that work with the fixed wings to generate lift. The drone is designed for four passengers and can reach speeds of up to 250 km / h, and the cruising range is designed for 100 km of flight. The test took place in May and included several basic maneuvers within 2 minutes and 14 seconds. It is planned that the device will be put into operation in 2026.

Prosperity by Autoflight is designed as a twin-boom aircraft with a wingspan of 12.8 meters and eight propellers for vertical takeoff and landing. The company promises a cruising speed of 200 km / h with a power reserve of up to 250 km, but the main feature of the aircraft is that it is quiet. This will allow it to harmoniously blend into the boundaries of the urban soundscape.

Both companies have set a goal of commercializing their aircraft by 2026.
