US asks UN to impose new sanctions on North Korea


Washington may impose new sanctions on the DPRK due to missile launches. Pyongyang’s actions destabilize the situation in the Asia-Pacific region, the US administration said.

US Permanent Representative to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield recalled that North Korea has carried out six ballistic missile launches since September 2021. And each of them violates the resolutions of the Security Council of the international organization.

The next missile tests took place on 12 January. DPRK authorities were satisfied results: a hypersonic missile flew one thousand kilometers and accurately hit the target. The process was personally observed by Kim Jong-un.

Similar tests were carried out Also January 5th and 11th.
