Microsoft is actively testing a major update 22H2 for Windows 11, codenamed Sun Valley 2. Among its new features is a redesigned and improved File Explorer, which is equipped with tabs. And yet, judging by the first reviews, it consumes much less system resources.
It was the use of tabs that allowed us to reduce resource consumption, since now the computer does not need to draw all open windows. How much the consumption of RAM has decreased has not yet been reported.
Also in the new “Explorer” there is a redesigned panel on the left. Frequently used folders will be automatically added there, making it easier to use. This file manager is currently only available to some members of the early access program.
The 22H2 update for Windows 11 is expected to be released before the end of this year.
