The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed the visit of the OSCE chairman to Moscow

The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that the visit of the OSCE Chairman, head of Polish diplomacy Zbigniew Rau to Russia is scheduled for mid-February. “Planned,” the Foreign Ministry confirmed RIA Novosti. Earlier this information was given by the press service of the Polish Foreign Ministry.

“In the middle of next month – most likely on February 15 – the OSCE chairman will meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov,” the PAP news agency quoted Lukas Yasina as saying. According to him, Russia is one of the most important member states.

Earlier, the Polish Foreign Ministry said that the priorities of the OSCE Chairmanship in 2022 would be to provide support in resolving conflicts, responding to the challenges caused by the pandemic, and cooperating in fulfilling the organization’s obligations.

Russia expects that Poland, as the chairman of the OSCE, will not express the personal position of the Polish leadership in relation to Moscow, commented the Permanent Representative to the OSCE Alexander Lukashevich. The diplomat emphasized that the OSCE chairman should proceed and take into account in his activities, especially in public statements, the positions that were agreed upon by consensus in the organization.
