The Russian Biathlon Union denied the information about the dismissal of the head coach of the women’s national team Mikhail Shashilov.
According to Match TV, at the next meeting of the board of the RBU, the issue of dismissing Shashilov on the eve of the Olympic Games in Beijing may be considered.
Later, the head of the press service of the Russian Biathlon Union Sergey Averyanov commented on this information. He declared RIA Novostithat he heard about it for the first time, and later called this news “nonsense” in his Telegram channel.
Later, the head of the RRF, Viktor Maigurov, told TASS that the issue of Shashilov’s dismissal was not on the agenda of the meeting, and the information that appeared was “a blow to the Russian team.” Currently, Shashilov is with the team and is preparing for the Olympics, which will be held in Beijing on February 4-20.
