Sinitsina and Katsalapov defended the European title


World champions in ice dancing Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov became the winners of the European Championship, which takes place in Tallinn.

Thus, the students of Alexander Zhulin defended the title won in 2020 (the tournament was not held in 2021 due to the coronavirus). Another Russian duo of Alexander Stepanov – Ivan Bukin took second place.

Sinitsina – Katsalapov were able to overcome a back injury from a partner, because of which they withdrew from the qualifying championship of Russia. For the free dance, they received 130.07 points and 217.96 in total for two rentals.

Stepanova – Bukin scored 126.75 and 213.20 points respectively. The bronze medal was won by the Italians Charlene Gignard – Marco Fabri (124.62 and 207.97).

The third Russian duo Diana Davis and Gleb Smolkin took seventh place (113.29 and 186.61).
