Sales of these 6 two-wheeler manufacturers grew by 15.3%, see which company was at the fore?

New Delhi. India’s top 6 two-wheeler manufacturers Hero, Honda, TVS, Bajaj, Suzuki and Royal Enfield have sold 10,99,167 units in the country in April 2022. This number is 1,45,829 units i.e. 15.3 percent more than last April. However, the sales of companies have decreased by 3.46 percent in April as compared to the same March.

Let’s take a look at the sales of top 6 two wheeler manufacturers in India in April 2022.

1. Hero Motocorp
The sales of the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer increased by 16.31 percent last month compared to this April 2021. During this time the company has sold 3,42,614 units in the domestic market. However, the company’s sales numbers were lower by 4.15 per cent (17,274 units) as compared to March 2022. Hero had sold 4,15,764 units during this period.

Japanese automaker Honda has also done well in April 2022. The company’s sales have increased by 32.75 percent during this period compared to April 2021. The company has sold a total of 78,632 units during this period, which is more than the 2,40,100 units sold in April last year. Honda’s April 2022 numbers saw an increase of 2.97 per cent (9,183 units) in its sales from 3,09,549 units in March 2022.

3. TVS
Indian two-wheeler maker TVS has seen a year-on-year growth of 37.41 percent (49,147 units) in its sales in April 2022 as compared to the same period of 2021. Last year, TVS sold 1,31,836 units in April. However, TVS sales declined by 8.34 per cent (16,423 units) as compared to March 2022, when it sold 1,96,956 units domestically.

April 2022 has been a difficult month for Bajaj. During this, the company’s sales have decreased in both YoY and MoM cases. Bajaj’s sales declined by 26.34 percent (33,337 units) as compared to April 2021, when it sold 1,26,570 units. There has also been a decline of 12.93 percent (13,848 units) in M-O-M sales as compared to March 2022. When Bajaj sold 1,07,081 two wheelers in the Indian market.

5. Suzuki
Suzuki’s sales have declined year after year. The company reported a decline of 14.95 percent (9,552 units) in April 2022 as compared to the same period last year. In April 2021, Suzuki sold a total of 63,879 two-wheelers in India. On the other hand, there was an increase of 7.08 percent (3,593 units) in the month’s sales as the Japanese company sold only 50,734 two-wheelers in India last month.

6.Royal Enfield
Royal Enfield has slipped to number five in this list. The company has sold a total of 53,852 units in April 2022, which is 7.91 percent less than the same March 2022. However, the sales of Royal Enfield have increased year after year. The company has increased by 10.38 percent in the last month as compared to April 2021. Last year, the company sold 48,789 units during this period.
