The press service of Roscosmos and the head of the state corporation Dmitry Rogozin shared details on the development of the project to create the first Aist-2T satellite for stereoscopic Earth imaging.
According to Roscosmos, the second stage of the creation of the Aist-2T space complex has now been completed. Specialists of the RCC “Progress” developed the working design documentation for the space complex, carried out its examination and received the conclusion of the leading research institutes.
Now the Rocket and Space Center has begun work on the third stage: ground-based experimental testing. Static testing of the hull of the spacecraft No. 1 has begun at the test center. Manufacturing of the hull of the second spacecraft is being completed in the production departments. The production and completion of ground experimental testing of the devices is planned for 2023.
As Dmitry Rogozin separately noted, Aist-2T will be launched into orbit using the Angara-1.2 rocket. The head of Roscosmos said:
The payload for the first launch in December next year of the Angara A.1.2 light launch vehicle from the new launch complex at the Vostochny cosmodrome has been determined.
