Ravi Shastri reacted to Kohli leaving the captaincy, told the saddest day

Cricket legends are giving their respective reactions on social media after Virat Kohli stepped down as the captain of the Test team. Some former players and coaches are surprised by this decision of Virat Kohli, while many have congratulated Kohli on a successful Test career as captain. Kohli has captained Team India in 68 matches and has been successful in winning India 40 times.

After Kohli’s retirement from the captaincy, BCCI wrote on Twitter, “BCCI congratulates the captain of the Indian team, Virat Kohli, for his excellent leadership qualities. He took the Test team to unprecedented heights. He has led India in 68 matches and is the most successful captain in the country with 40 wins.

Board Secretary Jay Shah said, “Congratulations to Virat Kohli on a wonderful stint as captain of the Indian team. Virat transformed the team into a fit unit which performed admirably both in India and outside. Winning Tests in Australia and England is special.

Former coach of the team Ravi Shastri wrote, “Virat, you can go with your head held high. What you have achieved as captain, few people have been able to do. Definitely India’s most aggressive and successful captain. For me personally Sad day because this is the team flag of India which we have made together with Virat Kohli.

Mohammad Azharuddin, who captained the Indian team for a long time, wrote on Twitter, “It is always an honor to lead a consistently growing Indian team and the decision to step down is an emotional moment. Virat Kohli, you have had a good journey as captain.
