Who is Sunil Kongolu who got important responsibility in Congress
The task force that has been formed for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections includes former Union ministers P. Chidambaram, Mukul Wasnik, Jairam Ramesh, K.C. Venugopal, Ajay Maken, Priyanka Gandhi, Randeep Surjewala, Sunil Kongolu have been included. Every member of the task force has got responsibilities related to organization, communication and media, finance and election management. Sunil Kongolu’s entry into the Congress came after talks broke down between fellow election strategist PK and Congress. Some people did not even know whether he was a member of Congress or not, to which party spokesperson Surjewala said yes he is a member of Congress party.
Sunil Kongolu who has a negligible presence on social media and is said to be an elusive person unlike PK. Their methods are also quite different. Prashant Kishor and Sunil Kongolu worked together in 2014 before parting ways. Earlier this year, the Congress roped in Sunil Kongolu’s company MindShare Analytics for polls for next year’s Karnataka state assembly elections.
Sunil Kongolu, who lived a low profile, caught attention
According to a person who has known Sunil Kongolu for some time now, he knows his limits. He doesn’t show off his relationship. He does not try to dominate anyone and does not want to take credit for success. He always likes to be in the background. It is said that he does not impose his views on the party. After parting ways with Prashant Kishor, Sunil Kongolu ran a campaign called Namakku for DMK chief and current Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin before the 2016 assembly elections and it was successful. Even though DMK was defeated in this election, Stalin emerged as a leader.
After Tamil Nadu, Sunil Kongolu has worked closely with Amit Shah in Delhi till February 2018. With the help of a team of 300 people, Kongolu shaped successful campaigns for the BJP, including state elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Karnataka. Sunil Kongolu returned to the DMK camp ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. And now he is in Congress.
