Petrol sales increased by 54 percent in the first 15 days of June, diesel demand also increased – News

Petrol-Diesel Sale Hike: There has been an improvement in the sales of petrol-diesel in the month of June. In the first 15 days of June, the sale of petrol has increased by 54 percent. At the same time, the sale of diesel has also increased by 48 percent. Let us tell you that in the month of May, the Central Government had reduced the excise duty on petrol and diesel, after which the price of petrol was reduced by Rs 8 and the price of diesel by Rs 6. Since then, the demand for petrol and diesel has also seen a spurt.

There was a decline last year
Last year in the same period of 2021, India, the world’s third largest consumer country, had the outbreak of the second wave of Kovid-19, due to which there was a decline in fuel demand.

12.8 lakh tonnes of petrol sold
Public sector petroleum companies have sold 12.8 lakh tonnes of petrol during June 1 to 14. This figure is 54.2 percent higher than the same period last year. According to the data released on Wednesday, the sales figure for June, 2022 is 48.2 per cent higher than the demand in the first fortnight of June, 2020 and is 25 per cent higher than the pre-Covid sales of 10.2 lakh tonnes in June, 2019. Petrol sales grew by 0.8 percent on a month-on-month basis.

How much did diesel sales increase?
The sales of diesel, the most widely used fuel in the country, grew by 47.8 per cent year-on-year to 34 lakh tonnes in the first fortnight of June. This figure is 37.3 percent more than the corresponding period of June, 2020 and 20.3 percent more than the pre-covid period. This is 12 per cent more than last month’s consumption of 30.3 lakh tonnes in the first fortnight of May.

How much did the sale of LPG increase?
Apart from this, if we talk about the sale of LPG, then it has increased by 4.21 percent to 10.6 lakh tonnes in the first fortnight of June. This figure is 20.3 percent more than in 2020 and 28.1 percent more than the first fortnight of June, 2019.

Aircraft fuel cells doubled
Aircraft fuel (ATF) sales more than doubled to 2,42,900 tonnes in the reporting period. ATF consumption was higher by 125.1 percent over the same period of June 2020. However, it remained 16.5 per cent lower as compared to June, 2019.
