Paytm’s payments revenue for the current quarter will be Rs 1,034 crore: Sharma

New Delhi, Jan 12 (PTI) Digital financial services company Paytm’s revenue from payments and merchant business is estimated to touch around Rs 1,034 crore in the January-March 2022 quarter.

Paytm founder and CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma said on Wednesday that its revenue in the fourth quarter of the current financial year is expected to grow 50-60 per cent to $ 140 million (Rs 1,034 crore) compared to the same period last year.

Sharma told the IAMAI India Digital Conference that the company has tried to increase its business by showing activeness in the loan disbursement business as well. He said that Paytm has even surpassed loans issued by non-banking financial companies in this matter.

He said Paytm is essentially a payments-based company and has a margin of around 10 per cent from the payments business. If merchant services are added to this, then business revenue can increase to $ 140 million and margins can increase by 30-40 percent.
