350 to 400 terrorists of Pakistan are gathering at border launch pads and terrorist training camps near LoC. Army Chief Narwane said that even though ceasefire violations have come down drastically from the Pakistan side, it is not deterring from its antics. Army Chief General MM Naravane said that the proxy war is going on from the Pakistan side.
Naravane said that in February last year, India and Pakistan had reached an agreement that there would be no violation of ceasefire. Although this was agreed since 2002, Pakistan was continuously violating it. It has come down since February last year. There have been only two incidents of violation so far. Due to this the situation has moved towards normalization to some extent, but the proxy war is going on from Pakistan side.
The danger is not over yet, you have to be alert
The Army Chief said that as per joint intelligence inputs, 350 to 400 terrorists are mobilized at launch pads and training camps on the other side of the border. This danger is by no means averted. We have to be alert. The threat on the Western Front is still very high and cannot be ignored.
Their nefarious designs have been exposed once again with the increasing number of terrorists at launch pads across the Line of Control and repeated infiltration attempts. However, on our part, we have resolved to have ‘zero-tolerance’ towards terrorism and are committed to it at any cost, the Army Chief said.
Terrorists are not getting help of people in the valley
MM Naravane said that the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir has improved. Terrorists are not getting the help of the people. That is why terrorists are targeting minorities, laborers from outside to disturb the peace there. We are dealing with those challenges. Regarding the dangers associated with the drone, the Army Chief said that it is being used to provide logistic support to the terrorists. We are aware of this threat and have taken several steps to tackle it.
