Okinawa Autotech and Tacita Partnership: Along with high-performance and high-speed electric cars across the world, the demand for electric two-wheelers is also increasing, and in such a situation, agreements are also being made between domestic and foreign companies. Now India’s popular electric two-wheeler company Okinawa Autotech has partnered with Italian popular company Tecita and both these companies will launch high performance electric motorcycles and scooters in the coming times. Under this joint venture, the new company will be located in India and will start manufacturing its products from 2023.
Efforts to dominate the electric two-wheelers segment
The landmark agreement was signed on 18 May 2022 between Okinawa and Tesita, two companies that specialize in the manufacture of electric vehicles. The main goal of both the companies behind setting up this new joint venture is to minimize the use of fossil fuels. With this, they aim to establish themselves as a leading company in the world of manufacturing electric two-wheelers in the future. Okinawa has been manufacturing electric two-wheelers for many years. Leveraging this experience, Okinawa will help drive the local development of electric two-wheelers in the future and manufacture electric vehicles locally.
Big plans of both companies
Tesita will provide the powertrain for the electric vehicles, which will include the controller, motor, battery pack and BMS. Let us tell you that with the last 10 years of research and testing, Okinawa has been able to manufacture modern and best performing electric vehicles and is doing well in this segment. Now under the joint venture, both the companies will manufacture two product ranges – scooters and motorcycles. These electric vehicles will be manufactured for domestic and international markets. In 2023, the range will include scooters and high-end performance motorcycles. With the best connectivity system in the market, this entire range will be equipped with Okinawa technology. At the same time, the design of electric vehicles and power trains, will be developed with a team of professional technicians from Okinawa and Italian experts at Tecita Headquarters in Italy.
