The VKontakte team spoke about the launch of an update for the short vertical video service VK Clips.
VK Clips has launched a new recommendation system that adjusts in real time to the personal interests of each user and continuously updates an endless feed of clips based on viewer feedback – reactions and comments.
The system takes into account both positive and negative feedback: for example, using the “This is not interesting” button, the user will be able to tell the service not to offer certain content anymore. Thus, the feed of clips will be updated, adjusting to the interests and mood of the user right now.
At the same time, the recommendations themselves have become more diverse. To the already existing mechanisms, the VK Clipov team added their own neural network technology for finding duplicates. Thus, only original content will be present in the user’s feed, and not copies of it.
