Machine gun, examination in democracy… be it Rahul or Akhilesh, ED did not know how many names
Congress claims that there is no FIR in this case and not a ‘scheduled offence’, on the basis of which a case of Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) should be registered and Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi should be summoned. Officials said the ED’s proceedings were much more concrete than the proceedings based on FIRs as the court took cognizance of the charge sheet filed by the Income Tax Department and continued the process.

He says that sections 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code are applicable in the case of income tax and they determine the offenses for which the ED may register a case of money laundering.

ED investigating officers also say that money laundering is defined under Section 3 of the PMLA and the ED is applying it to probe the role of Rahul Gandhi in the entire case, “while there is no exchange of cash”. No, but crime has benefited and some people have benefited.

As per Section 3 of PMLA, “Whoever, who directly or indirectly attempts to engage in any proceeding or activity connected with the process of an offense or willfully aids or willfully becomes a party or is actually involved, and presenting the same as immaculate property, he shall also be guilty of the offense of money laundering.

The officials contested the Congress’ claim that ‘Young Indian’ is a non-profit company in which no one can take profit. Officials said violation of law is an offense and the Income Tax Department’s charge sheet in the case and the ‘Enforcement Case Information Report’ (ECIR) indicate that the provisions of the non-profit company have been violated.

According to sources, 15-16 questions related to the establishment of ‘Young Indian’, operation of ‘National Herald’ and the loan given by Congress to Associated Journals Limited (AJL) and transfer of funds within the media body were put to Rahul Gandhi. Huh.

According to officials, the questioning of senior Congress leaders and the Gandhi family is part of the ED probe to understand the stake pattern, financial transactions and role of promoters of ‘Young Indian’ and ‘Associated Journals Limited’ (AJL). . The promoters and shareholders of ‘Young Indian’ include Sonia Gandhi and some other Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi.

The Congress says that the allegations leveled against its top leaders are baseless and the ED’s action is being taken as part of the politics of vendetta.
