NITI Aayog has written on Twitter that Purnia (Bihar) and Mewat (Haryana) are at the second and third position respectively in the list. At the same time, Darang in Assam and Damoh in Madhya Pradesh are at fourth and fifth place respectively.
The delta ranking has been prepared on the basis of progress of 112 aspirational districts in six areas of development in March 2022.
These areas include health and nutrition, education and water resources, financial inclusion, skill development and basic infrastructure. The progress of the districts in these areas was observed to prepare the ranking.
The Aspirational District Program started in January 2018. Its objective is to bring forward those districts, which have been left behind in key social areas and come in the list of backward areas.
The ranking of aspirational districts is done every month.
