Bhim Sena Chief Satpal Tanwar Arrested: Bhim Army Chief Nawab Satpal Tanwar has been arrested by the police. Tanwar had announced a reward of Rs 1 crore to the person who bit the tongue of former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma. Along with this, vulgar language was also used for Nupur. The police had received several complaints against Tanwar. It was said in these that they are disturbing communal harmony on social media. Tanwar has several Twitter handles and Facebook profiles. Through these, Satpal was spewing venom against Nupur.

Delhi Police has said that it has received several complaints in the recent past. There have been many such posts from different social media accounts which are spreading hatred and violence. Their intention was clearly to disturb the public peace. Based on complaints and social media analysis, Delhi Police has registered 19 FIRs under different sections of IPC including 153A/505/295A/506/509. One such case was registered against Bhim Army Chief Nawab Satpal Tanwar.

Police arrested in Haryana
Satpal was arrested from Gurugram in Haryana on Thursday. After this, Satpal had said that there were some medical problems. Medical test of Satpal Tanwar was done regarding this. He was then sent to judicial custody. Since the FIR was registered, Nawab Satpal Tanwar was trying to hide in different parts of North India from Punjab, UP and Haryana.

Who is Satpal Tanwar?
Satpat Tanwar describes himself as the head of the Bhima army. Satpal Tanwar had announced a reward of one crore rupees to the person who brought Nupur Sharma’s tongue off. Also used abusive language against the former BJP spokesperson. In a YouTube video, Tanwar can be heard saying, “Produce Nupur Sharma in my court, I will get her mujra done”. A lot of objections were lodged for using such language for a woman.

Nupur Sharma was suspended by BJP for making controversial remarks about Prophet Muhammad. Many countries had expressed displeasure over Nupur Sharma’s statement. After this the party took this step. However, even after this the matter did not cool down. The demand for his arrest intensified across the country. Demonstrations were also held regarding this. FIR has been registered against Nupur in many states.
