Mishina and Gallyamov with a world record won the short program at the European Championship

The current world champions in pair skating Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov won the short program at the European Championships, which takes place in Tallinn. Two more of our duets are in second and third place: Evgenia Tarasova – Vladimir Morozov and Alexandra Boykova – Dmitry Kozlovsky.

Mishina – Gallyamov, as well as the titled and experienced Tarasova – Morozov, showed clean skates, receiving personal bests – 82.36 and 81.58 points, respectively. Moreover, the leaders have updated the world record.

The previous one belonged to the current European champions Boikova – Kozlovsky, which they installed just at the 2020 European Championship in Graz (82.34 points).

At the box office in Tallinn, the ex-record holders failed to avoid mistakes when performing a parallel jump. The partner doubled the triple salchow, so they were given low scores – 76.26.

The fate of the medals will be decided tomorrow, when the pairs will present free programs.
