Stock Market Closing: The decline in the Indian stock market is not taking its name to stop. For the fifth consecutive trading session, the stock market closed on Thursday with a huge fall. Due to poor global cues, heavy selling is being seen from both the domestic and foreign investors.
At the end of Thursday’s trading, the Sensex of the Mumbai Stock Exchange closed at 52,944 points down by 1,200 points, while the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange closed at 15,814 points, down by 352 points.
The banking sector has played a big role in the downfall of the stock market. Bank Nifty closed at 33,532 points, down 3.35 percent i.e. 1161 points. Apart from this, major decline was also seen in Auto, IT, Pharma, FMCG, Energy, Media sectors. Of the 50 stocks of Nifty, only one share closed in the green, while 49 shares closed in the red mark. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, two stocks have closed in the green mark while 29 stocks have closed in the red mark.
