Let us tell you that the Kia EV6 is being brought to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). Kia has said that customers will not have to wait much for the delivery of the EV6 and the company will deliver all 100 units in September and October this year. The Korean carmaker has made the EV6 available at select 15 dealerships across 12 cities. The company will expand it to new cities in future.
Kia has offered the flagship EV6 in two variants – rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The rear wheel drive variant gets a single motor producing 226 Bhp of power and 350 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the all-wheel drive variant gets a dual motor setup with 320 Bhp of power and 650 Nm of peak torque.
The Kia EV6 gets a sloping roof, angular rear windows, LED headlight, LED strip tail light and a large rear windscreen. The company claims that its performance is going to be much better due to its design.
Gets a range of 528 km
Both the variants get the same 77.4 kWh battery pack but the colors of both the models are different. The company claims that the rear-wheel drive variant is capable of giving a range of 528 km and the all-wheel drive variant 425 km on a full charge. The EV6 is offered in three drive modes – Eco, Normal and Sports. Along with this, this car is also equipped with regenerative braking technology.
Equipped with fast charging technology
The EV6 has been supported with ultra-fast charging. It can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes using a 350KWh charger. Two-way charging technology has also been given in EV6 which works like reverse charging. It can also be used to charge other devices from the car.
The interior of the Kia EV6 is extremely premium and luxury. The dual-screen setup has been given in its cabin for the driver screen and infotainment system. It is equipped with connected car technology, two-spoke steering wheel, augmented reality heads-up display and a host of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) safety features.
After the launch of the EV6, Kia Motors may launch the e-Niro electric car in India. It will be an affordable electric car that will be locally produced. This is a part of the carmaker’s plan with Hyundai to launch six new electric vehicles in India. The carmaker is making local investments for research and development on electric cars in India. Kia’s next electric car is expected to arrive in 2025.
