Preparations have also been made to run pumps from the water-collecting areas. The Disaster Management Department has asked people to avoid going towards the hilly areas. Tourists have been told to stay where they are at the moment. The Central Meteorological Department has forecast that Monsoon is about to reach South Andaman Sea, Nicobar Islands and South East Bay of Bengal.

The Meteorological Department said that the severe heat wave could create health concerns for vulnerable people, infants, elderly and people suffering from diseases. People of these areas should avoid coming in contact with heat wave. Light colored loose, cotton clothes should be worn and head should be covered with cloth, cap or umbrella etc.

Palawat said, “An area of ​​cyclonic circulation over Punjab and Haryana will induce pre-monsoon activity, which may bring some respite from the scorching heat on Monday and Tuesday.” IMD has said that there is a possibility of dust storm in the national capital on Monday.
