  • David Warner is now in Delhi after Sunrisers Hyderabad release

David Warner- Virender Sehwag : David Warner is playing for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022. Even before this he has played for the Delhi team, but then the name of the team used to be Delhi Daredevils. Just two days ago, David Warner played a strong innings against his old IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad and also played a big role in winning the team. Since then David Warner has dominated social media. Meanwhile, former India opener and Delhi Capitals captain Virender Sehwag has made a big disclosure about David Warner.

Virender Sehwag has revealed that Australian opener David Warner had disciplinary issues at Delhi Daredevils in his first year with the franchise, and his attitude led to him being punished. David Warner made his IPL debut in 2009 with Delhi Daredevils. He played five seasons for Delhi Daredevils before moving to Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2014. Virender Sehwag told Cricbuzz that I once vented my anger on David Warner, the way he was traveling with the Delhi team. When he came in 2009, he used to pay more attention to parties. At the same time, he was less inclined to practice matches. He was also involved in fights with some players, due to which he was also ruled out of two matches.

Virender Sehwag said that sometimes it happens that to teach a lesson to someone, you had to make them sit on the bench. Because he was a freshman, it was important to let him know that you are not important to the team and other players can play in your place. However, Virender Sehwag said that it was wrong for Sunrisers Hyderabad to first remove Warner from the captaincy and then completely bench him during the 2021 season. David Warner remained with the franchise for eight years and scored 4014 runs in 95 matches at an average of 49.46 and a healthy strike of 142.59. The Aussie scored 40 half-centuries and two centuries during his stint with Hyderabad and helped them to their maiden IPL title in 2016.

Virender Sehwag said that the loss to Hyderabad is the advantage of Delhi Capitals due to his arrival. He said that the new SRH captain Kane Williamson is not performing well. His performance this year is similar to that of Warner last season, but he is still the captain of Hyderabad. The figures are almost the same and he is still in the team. Regarding the controversy last year, Sehwag said that I think his off-field remarks by Warner did not go down well with the Hyderabad team management. The SRH management must have thought that his exit perception was that the captain was given less importance in the team and all the decisions would have been taken by the management. Warner was first dropped as captain by the Hyderabad management in 2021 and then dropped for several matches during the second leg of the IPL in the UAE.
