A government statement said that Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Germany’s Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development Svenja Schulz signed a declaration in this regard in a virtual meeting.
In accordance with the agreement, the two countries have agreed to promote joint research, knowledge sharing and innovation between academic institutions and those involved in farming, including farmers, the statement said.
“Germany’s Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development intends to provide 300 million euros by the year 2025 to provide financial and technical support to projects under this initiative,” the statement said.
Germany will provide coordinated support for this initiative, supporting the agro-ecosystem transformation process in India through the Technical Cooperation Project.
