One of the largest banks in India, State Bank of India (SBI) provides most of the facilities to its users online.One of these important facilities is to get KYC done, if you are an SBI customer and you have not got KYC done yet, then your account can also be frozen i.e. closed. After which you will not be able to do any transaction from your account.

The facility to update KYC details has now started online, which allows customers to send KYC documents from home without visiting the branch. To unfreeze and keep your account under control, you will be required to do KYC.

Ever since the COVID-19 and lockdown started across India, SBI Bank started accepting KYC documents online. Customers will not be required to visit the branch in person for the purpose of KYC updation. Let us have a look at how KYC for SBI Bank can be updated online.

Documents required for online KYC

Before submitting the documents for KYC, to update the KYC details, you need to submit certain documents to the bank.We have prepared the list according to different categories.

KYC Documents Required for Individuals

> Passport

> Voter ID Card

> Driving License

> Aadhar Card / NREGA Card

> PAN Card

KYC Documents Required for

Minors In case of minor account holder, where the minor is less than 10 years of age, ID proof of the person operating the account has to be submitted.

KYC Documents Required for NRIs

> Foreign Office

> Notary Public

> Embassy of India

> Officers of the correspondent banks whose signatures are verifiable through the authorized (A/B Category Foreign Exchange Management Branch) branch of the bank.

Step by Step Process to do KYC

Step 1- Customers have to scan their address proof and identity proof and send it to the official mail id of their branch.

Step 2- Keep in mind that the e-mail is to be sent only from the registered email.

Step 3- If your KYC document is not completed then you send the KYC document online.

Step 4- In the documents which have to be sent, your address proof along with passport, driving license, Aadhar card, NREGA card, PAN card.

Step 5- If the age of a minor is less than 10 years.In such a situation, the identity card of the person who operates that account will have to be given.

Step 6- When the account holder age will be more than 10 years, then they will also have to provide KYC documents like everyone else.
