What is Lok Adalat?
Lok Adalat is a mechanism that was introduced to resolve legal disputes out of court. It is an alternative means of disposal of cases. It follows a simple and informal process to settle disputes in the shortest possible time. The order or decision of Lok Adalat is final. No appeal can be made after its decision. Delhi Traffic Police regularly organizes Lok Adalats for the settlement of traffic related matters.

Let us tell you, the government has changed the rules for claiming insurance in road accidents related to motor vehicles. According to the new rules, if the drivers are found to be violating any traffic rules before the accident, then the insurance company can refuse to pay the claim to them.

These violations include over-riding of autorickshaw riders, three-wheelers on bikes, two-wheelers without helmets, driving on the wrong side, drunk driving, talking on the phone while driving and over speeding. Cases such as not wearing seatbelts and giving bribe have been included.

India is one of the countries with the highest number of deaths in road accidents.
