Owaisi said that a decision in this regard was taken in the Parliament of India in 1991. It said that the truth will remain that all religious places after 15th August 1947, except Babri Masjid, will not be disturbed in their nature and character. That is, they will remain as they are. It will not be tampered with. We have to accept this truth.
On the question of women petitioners worshiping Mother Shringar Gauri, Owaisi said that what is true is true. Everyone has to abide by what is said in the 1991 Act. Referring to Mathura and Agra, he said that the same thing applies there too. The decision should come on the basis of this act.
He said that it is a different matter that the Prime Minister of the country will say that it is a question of my faith. I have 300 MP in Lok Sabha. I have a majority in the Rajya Sabha. If I will repeal the 1991 Act itself, it is a different matter.
Owaisi said that as long as this Act is there, the Gyanvapi Masjid was and will remain. There is no debate in this. He has lost one mosque and does not want to lose another. In the context of Babri Masjid also it was assured that nothing would happen. But, he was martyred. Now he will not come in any kind of things at all.
On paralyzing the Mughal invaders, Owasi said that an attempt is being made to snatch the mosque from the Muslims by raising the question of faith. The Babri Masjid was also snatched in the same way. The idols were kept in the dark of night. Rajiv Gandhi got the lock opened. Then the worship started. After this the mosque was martyred. Owaisi said, ‘I am not a supporter of the Mughals, I am an advocate of the Constitution. And if someone had attacked where did you tell? The same lie was spread in the case of Babri Masjid. Whereas the Supreme Court did not accept it.
