New Delhi: Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pandey is on a three-day visit to Ladakh to take stock of the deployment of security forces along the borders with China. He arrived in Leh on Thursday on his first visit to the Ladakh region after taking over as the Army Chief. A high level of operational readiness has been maintained by the security forces in such sensitive areas.
This was followed by detailed discussions on issues related to the role of the Indian Army in civil-military cooperation and development activities in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
During his visit to Ladakh, General Pandey will also visit forward areas in eastern Ladakh and interact with troops deployed along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in one of the most difficult and inhospitable areas in the world.
