The Indian Air Force has issued a statement saying that General Bipin Rawat’s helicopter crashed due to bad weather. The Air Force has released the findings of the Court of Inquiry.

The findings of the Court of Inquiry have ruled out any technical fault, negligence or any conspiracy in the helicopter. It was said that due to the sudden arrival of clouds, the weather suddenly changed and due to this the accident happened.

In the Tri-Service Court of Inquiry, the team examined the cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder of the helicopter and also gathered information from eyewitnesses. The investigation team has also given some suggestions which are being reviewed.

In December last year, an Indian Air Force helicopter crashed near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu. The helicopter was carrying Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, his wife and some other army officers. All the people had died in the accident.
