Google extends PiP support to Chrome for Google Meet, users will get the facility in 15 days – News

New Delhi. Google recently previewed the picture-in-picture (PiP) feature for the desktop version of Google Meet on Chrome. This feature is now rolling out to a select group of Google Account users soon. The search engine giant has officially confirmed the rollout of the new PiP for Meet on desktop by pinning multiple video feeds via an official blog post.

According to the blog post, the feature will be available over the next 15 days to all Google Workspace customers as well as legacy G Suite Basic and Business customers as well as personal Google Account users. Also, this feature will be available by default and will not require any admin control.

Google Meet via Chrome
The PiP feature on Google Meet Web via Chrome will allow users to view four of the meeting’s participants in a video tile at once in a popup window, the post said. Also, like any other PiP mode, users will be able to move the popup window as per their convenience and they can also change the size of the window. To enable PIP mode while taking Google Meet calls on the web, users need to click on the three dots next to the Hangup button at the bottom and then click on the option ‘Open picture-in-picture’.

Added some other features to Google Meet
Additionally, users can now pin multiple video feeds at once, allowing them to combine content and people as they wish. Meanwhile, Google has also added some other features to Google Meet, including removing automatic reverberation and removing users from calls, among many other features.
