New Delhi. Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Agarwal said on Twitter on Friday that for customers who have already paid Rs 20,000, the final payment window will open on the Ola app on January 21 at 6 pm. The deliveries of these Ola scooters will start next month.
The Ola CEO shared a video along with the tweet, in which hundreds of Ola S1 scooters are seen standing inside the ride-hailing aggregator-turned-EV maker’s ‘Future Factory’.
499 Rs. I was booked
Ola Electric started pre-launch bookings for its electric scooters at 499 in July 2021. During this, the company had received 1 lakh orders in just 24 hours. The delivery of this electric scooter got delayed despite the delivery schedule being fixed. The company had announced the delivery of the e-scooter on December 16 last year after customers came under pressure for delay in delivery. The first 100 scooters were delivered to the customers in Chennai and Bangalore.
Questions were raised on the range of scooters
Ola Electric launched its S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters last year, which have been designed in line with the Etergo AppScooter. Ola electric scooters have already started shipping to the consumers and have received mixed response from them. While the features and design of the Ola scooters have received positive response from the consumers, the actual range of the scooters is claimed to be much lower than the EV range announced by the company.
Company making 1000 scooters daily
Ola Electric’s S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters are being manufactured at the company’s plant, which is set up on 500 acres in Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu. The factory will have a capacity to manufacture two million e-scooters in the initial phase and up to 10 million units in the future. Last week, the CEO of Ola had said that the factory is producing around 1000 scooters every day.
