Due to this, gold had closed at Rs 51,681 per 10 grams in the previous trading session.
Similarly, silver also declined by Rs 1,228 to close at Rs 63,028 per kg. Silver had closed at Rs 64,256 per kg in the previous trading session.
In the international market, gold fell to USD 1,880 an ounce while silver remained almost unchanged at USD 22.62 an ounce.
HDFC Securities Senior Analyst (Commodities) Tapan Patel said, “Spot gold was trading 0.85 per cent lower at USD 1,880 an ounce on the New York-based commodity exchange Comex on Monday due to a strengthening dollar and rising US bond earnings. Due to which there was a fall in the prices of gold.
