Genoa sacked Andriy Shevchenko as head coach


The Italian football club “Genoa” has dismissed from the post of head coach of the Ukrainian coach Andriy Shevchenko. This was announced on the official site club. The reason for the decision to part with Shevchenko is not disclosed.

Ukrainian headed Genoa in November last year. The team played 11 matches under the leadership of Shevchenko and won only one victory. The club from Genoa has 21 points and is in the penultimate place in Serie A.

Abdoulaye Konko has been appointed interim head coach of the team.

Shevchenko previously coached the Ukrainian national football team, but his contract was not extended after Euro 2020.
