The harvest festival Lohri is being celebrated today in North India especially in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Jammu and Chandigarh. Lohri marks the end of the long nights of winter. It welcomes the long days of summer, as the Sun begins its journey in the Northern Hemisphere. On the occasion of Lohri, from the Prime Minister to the Chief Minister have greeted the people on the festival.

President Ram Nath Kovind extended his best wishes
President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday extended his greetings to the countrymen on the occasion of Lohri, Makar Sankranti, Pongal, Bhogali Bihu and said that he prays that these festivals related to the harvesting of crops increase the spirit of brotherhood among the people. According to the Rashtrapati Bhavan statement, President Kovind said that I pray that this festival should increase the spirit of brotherhood among the people and prosperity and happiness prevail in our country.
