FPI Selling Update In 2022: FPI selling stirred the market, sold shares worth 2 lakh crores – News

FPI Selling In 2022: Indian stock market index Sensex Nifty has fallen to its lowest level of one year. The main reason for which is the selling of foreign portfolio investors-FPIs. Foreign portfolio investors have sold shares worth Rs 2 lakh crore so far in less than 6 months in 2022.

Selling Rs 2 lakh crore
Foreign Portfolio Investors-FPIs are continuously selling in the Indian markets. This process continues for the last nine months from October 2021. In May 2022, Foreign Portfolio Investors-FPIs have sold shares worth Rs 45,276 crore. This month till June 17, FPIs have sold shares worth Rs 28,245 crore and this is the reason why the market is seeing a decline every day. At the same time, so far in 2022, the foreign portfolio investor has sold shares worth Rs 2,02,244 crore.

Nifty’s worst week in 2 years
In fact, foreign investors are selling because of the Federal Reserve’s increase in interest rates in the US, fearing the possibility of a recession around the world. Due to which the Sensex has fallen by 2943 points this week. So Nifty has come close to 15,300 points. This week has been the worst week for Nifty in two years. If Nifty falls below 14,882 points, then it will be called a bearish signal in the market.
