New Delhi: Kashi Vishwanath Temple-Gyanvapi Masjid issue (Gyanvapi Masjid CaseThe Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Wednesday said that facts should be allowed to come out amid the ongoing controversy. He also said that the truth cannot be hidden for long. While addressing the journalist honor function of RSS’s dialogue cell Indraprastha Vishwa Samvad Kendra, RSS’s Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar expressed his views on this subject.

“There are some facts which are coming to the fore. I believe that facts should be allowed to come out. In any situation the truth will come out.’ Ambekar said, ‘How long will you hide the truth? I believe that historical facts should come before the society in the right perspective.

During the ceremony, Union Minister Sanjeev Balyan said that he got emotional when he came to know about the Shivling found in the mosque. He said that he was in Varanasi when this development was going on and he got emotional. Balyan said that when a journalist told him that Nandi had been waiting for Shiva for many centuries, his eyes filled with tears.

This remark of RSS’s Prachar Pramukh Ambekar assumes significance as the RSS chief was responding to a question on Gyanvapi Masjid and Shahi Idgah in Mathura on November 9, 2019, when the Supreme Court gave its verdict in the Ram temple case in Ayodhya. Mohan Bhagwat had said that the Sangh was associated with the Ramjanmabhoomi movement as an organization due to historical reasons, this was an exception. He had said that now we will join with human development.

Significantly, the mosque is located close to the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple. A local court is hearing a plea by a group of Hindu women to offer daily prayers in front of its wall-mounted statues.
