According to reports, the delimitation of Assembly and Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir is almost complete. Jammu and Kashmir Delimitation Commission may hold a meeting today regarding this. In this, a notification related to the delimitation of Jammu and Kashmir assembly seats is likely to be issued. In this meeting, a final agreement can be made on the delimitation of seats in Jammu and Kashmir.
A few days ago, Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra had told that by May 6, the work of delimitation of Lok Sabha and Assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir will be completed. Sushil Chandra is also a member of the Delimitation Commission.
According to media reports, some seats will be reserved for Kashmiri Pandits. Representatives of Kashmiri Pandits will be nominated on these. After the removal of Article 370, the total number of assembly seats in the state has been increased from 107 to 114. However, 24 seats are in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). Therefore, there will be a delimitation of 90 seats only.
