Crude oil futures fall on weak spot demand

New Delhi, May 2 (PTI) Crude oil prices on Monday fell 1.53 per cent to Rs 7,993 per barrel in futures trade as participants offloaded their positions on weak spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude for delivery in May fell by Rs 124, or 1.53 per cent, to Rs 7,993 per barrel. It had a business turnover of 5,579 lots.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude fell 0.72 per cent to $103.94 a barrel in New York. On the other hand, Brent crude was trading 0.68 percent lower at $106.41 per barrel.
