New Delhi: A meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) will be held at the party headquarters here on May 9, ahead of the Congress’ ‘Chintan Shivir’ in Udaipur, Rajasthan. In this meeting, along with the agenda of the Chintan Shivir, the future strategy of the party will also be discussed. The Congress had last month announced that a three-day ‘Chintan Shivir’ would be organized in Udaipur from May 13-15 in which party leaders from across the country would discuss internal issues and suggest solutions to strengthen the organisation.
Congress General Secretary, Organisation, KC Venugopal said in a tweet, “Meeting of Congress Working Committee will be held on Monday, 9th May 2022 at 4.30 PM at Congress Office, 24 Akbar Road, New Delhi with 13 in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Discussion will be held about ‘Nav Sankalp Shivir- 2022’ to be held by 15th May 2022.
Senior Congress leaders KC Venugopal, Ajay Maken and Ashok Gehlot took stock of the preparations for the Chintan Shivir on Wednesday. Earlier, days after considering the suggestions of election strategist Prashant Kishor, the Congress had announced the formation of a ‘Privileged Working Group- 2024’ to strengthen the party for the next Lok Sabha elections and tackle future challenges. Kishor later turned down Congress’ offer to join the party and formulate the party’s election strategy. The Congress has begun preparations for assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh later this year, besides other state elections in 2023 and Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
