Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar while addressing a conference said that modernization of agriculture sector is on the agenda of the government.
He said that ‘Kisan Drones’ are being promoted for crop evaluation, digitization of land records, spraying of pesticides and nutrients. Provision has also been made for this in the budget.
Tomar said that with the aim of promoting the use of farmer drones, the government is giving 50 percent or maximum subsidy of Rs 5 lakh to SC/ST, small and marginal farmers, women and farmers of northeastern states to buy drones.
He said that other farmers would be given financial assistance of 40 percent or up to a maximum of four lakh rupees to buy this drone.
