England’s Test captain Joe Root is considering joining the IPL auction. He has not been a part of this dazzling league since then. The 31-year-old batsman, however, said that he would like to play in this league only if it does not affect his Test career.

Hobart. England Test captain Joe Root has revealed that he is looking to re-enter the lucrative league auction after missing out on any team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction four years ago. Root, considered one of the greats of the game in the current era, was not bid by any team in the IPL auction in 2018. He has not been a part of this dazzling league since then. The 31-year-old batsman, however, said that he would like to play in this league only if it does not affect his Test career.

“Time is short but I have many things to think about,” Root told ESPNcricinfo.com. If I don’t think so, I will put myself in the auction. But I would never do anything that would disturb playing Test cricket for England. It is very important to ensure this as it is my and other players’ priority. Australia pacer Mitchell Starc also said on Wednesday that he is contemplating a return to the IPL despite the upcoming hectic schedule.
