Magenta ChargeGrid is currently expanding its charging network to 35-40 cities in India, aiming to establish a network of around 11,000 chargers by the end of FY2023. This partnership with Magenta ChargeGrid will give Ather Grid access to key locations in Tier I, Tier II and Tier III cities and highways in India and provide wider coverage for EV customers.
These locations are strategically placed to make them easily accessible to EV owners and will also provide power load as per the requirement for the chargers to operate.
The company is investing in strategic partnerships to reduce range anxiety and accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in the country. Ather has partnered with charging operators like Zone Charging and retail partners like Decathlon, Cafe Coffee Day, Blue Tokai etc. and 15 other brands.
Since its launch, Ather Energy has actively focused on building fast-charging networks and has also released its IP for charging connectors to all OEMs. At present, Ather has installed over 330 fast-charging Ather grid points across 35 cities in the country.
Any electric vehicle can be charged at a rate of 1.5 km/min on Ather’s fast charging grid. Over the next 3 years, Ather plans to install 5,000 fast chargers across India and these are progressive steps towards the strategic partnership goal.
Ather Energy has expanded its retail footprint across major cities in India and is presently present in 31 cities with 36 retail stores. Over the next three years, Ather plans to increase its annual production capacity from four lakh to one million scooters, develop new products and expand its network to 600 stores.
