All indicators show that India is on the path of growth: Goyal

New Delhi, May 5 (PTI) Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday said that all key indicators like growth in exports and higher GST collection in April indicate that the country’s economy is on a growth trajectory.

He said the export of goods and services reached $675 billion in the financial year 2021-22, while the Goods and Goods Tax (GST) collection touched an all-time high of about Rs 1.68 lakh crore in April, 2022, compared to the previous year. 20 percent more than in the same month.

“Therefore, all the indicators indicate that the country is on the right track of growth, development and revival,” Goyal said at the summit on ‘Enhancing Global Opportunities for India’s Project Exporters’ on behalf of Exim Bank.

The Union Minister also underlined the challenges being faced by the global economy like COVID-19, disruption in global supply chain, rising raw material prices, container shortage, financial market volatility and geopolitical tensions.
