‘Airline companies are not allowing even those who reach the airport on time’, know what is the matter

New Delhi: Indian aviation regulator DGCA said flight companies are indulging in “improper activities” of denying entry to passengers who reach the airport on time. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on May 2, in an e-mail, asked all Indian airlines to pay compensation and facilities to those passengers who have been affected by the denial of entry. Failure to do so, DGCA warned of imposing fine on them.

Sources said that due to the decrease in Kovid-19 cases, Indian airlines are booking tickets more than the passenger capacity of their aircraft and when the number of passengers exceeds the number of seats in the aircraft, the companies are allowed to board the passengers. Do not let you ride.

“It has come to the notice of DGCA that various companies are not allowing passengers having confirmed tickets to board the aircraft who reach the airport within the time specified by the airline,” the email said. It has been observed that this ‘practice’ is highly unfair to the passengers and brings disrepute to the aviation industry.

According to the email, to deal with such a situation, the DGCA had issued a rule in 2010 asking flight companies to pay specified minimum compensation and facilities to those passengers who have been stopped from boarding the aircraft or whose The ticket has been canceled or whose flight has been delayed. In the email of DGCA, flight companies have been instructed to follow this rule.
