Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on a tour of Germany, Denmark and France from May 2 to 4. PM Modi held bilateral and multilateral meetings with eight global leaders from seven countries in 65 hours. The PM held around 25 meetings during his foreign visit. Apart from this, PM Modi also held talks with 50 global business leaders. As soon as PM Modi returned home, he started holding fast meetings. Will preside over an important meeting to deal with the scorching heat in various parts of the country and to take stock of the preparations related to the monsoon.
Meeting started as soon as he returned to India
He said the Prime Minister is scheduled to hold around seven to eight meetings a day after returning from a three-day visit to European countries. Sources said that the Prime Minister will go to his office immediately after returning home. The mercury is rising rapidly in many parts of the country and the temperature has reached 45 degree Celsius in many cities. However, due to hailstorm and rain in some parts of the country including Delhi on Wednesday, people got some relief from the scorching heat.
Told the trip to France worthwhile
Earlier, in a tweet, the Prime Minister described his visit to France as “very meaningful”. Modi said, ‘My visit to France was brief but it was very fruitful. I and President Emmanuel Macron had the opportunity to discuss a variety of topics. I thank him and the Government of France for the wonderful hospitality.’ In the last leg of his visit, Modi held detailed talks with Macron. A few weeks ago, Macron was re-elected President of France.
Ukraine Russia war also gave its opinion
Modi and Macron discussed bilateral, mutual interests as well as regional and global issues amid Russia’s attack against Ukraine. On Wednesday night, he held deep talks with Macron in private and at the representative level. Modi and Macron discussed the regional and global implications of the conflict in Ukraine and agreed to increase coordination on the issue. The issue of Ukraine also figured prominently in the India-Nordic summit which was attended by Prime Minister Modi and his counterparts from Finland, Iceland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
